A structured ADHD evaluation considers attention, executive function, sleep, mood and learning in developmental context. In our Singapore clinic we combine detailed history, standardised parent and teacher observations, and a considered discussion of support. Diagnosis is only part of the picture. Overview
ADHD looks different at different ages and often overlaps with anxiety, sleep, learning or family stress. A careful evaluation asks 'what is going on for this child?' rather than only 'do the criteria fit?'.
What's involved
- Detailed developmental, medical and family history
- Standardised parent and, where possible, teacher observations
- Executive-function and learning review
- Discussion of support across home, school and, where appropriate, medical management
Who this is for
- Children and teens where attention, focus or organisation are affecting daily life
- Families exploring whether ADHD explains the picture
Common questions
- Do you prescribe medication?
- Medication is one option that is discussed carefully when appropriate. It is never the only tool.
- Do you use questionnaires?
- We use standardised parent and teacher observations as part of a full picture. We don't rely on any single questionnaire in isolation.
